Art Practice
My watercolor practice is rooted in observation and place.
I create site-specific and studio watercolor work rooted in observation, collaboration, and lived experience. Often a piece begins with time spent in a location, and then I bring it into the studio.
This process has led to collaborative projects with local businesses and organizations, including a Maryland brewery partnership in which I painted on site and developed artwork connected to a twelve-bottle Landmade farm brew series.
Art is both a reflective and generative practice for me. It informs my work as a designer, educator, and writer. Through painting, I slow down, observe deeply, and translate space into narrative. The images below capture moments from Iterations, a faculty exhibition at Marymount University’s School of Design and Art, and one of my works created in support of Hawksbill turtle conservation.
Commissions and Collaborations
I accept a limited number of commissions each year.
Collaborations are considered when there is a shared intention behind the project, particularly those connected to place, aging, environmental context, or community storytelling.
Select works are available as digital prints.
